Kenningwell United Player Presentation 2007 – 2008

The Christmas celebration game against VN on Sunday 21st December 2008 took place at Crystal Palace Stadium. Before the game the Kenningwell Academy had a friendly match in the magnificent Dome and were each given presents after the match. It was also the first chance to see the new Kenningwell team minibus decked out in its new Kenningwell livery. The first team game ended 1 – 1 against a resilient VN side, although on another day Kenningwell could have easily walked away with all 3 points.

Following the first team game, the players, managers, officials and supporters met in the bar for a Christmas drink and for the presentation of the 2007 – 2008 season awards held over from last season. The first award was the ‘Clubman of the Year’ which is arguably the most important trophy to be won, with the winner being the person who has contributed to the club in some great way and is an example for all those connected with the club. Curtis Dennie was the winner and was presented the trophy from the Club Chairman, Club Development Officer and Micky Bennett, ex professional and England youth international and long time friend of the club.

The next award was for the club’s top goal scorer, which yet again went to Mark Coyle. Mark was in Jamaica at the time and Club Captain; Taylor Scipio collected the award from Micky on his behalf.

The players regard the big award as the Player of the Year trophy. It must have been a hard decision for the managers to make but Tishaye Freckleton was the deserved winner after producing many wonderful displays from left back last season.
